Special Tour - visiting Kyoto city -We are pleased to inform you that a bus tour is arranged specially for the participants of IHTC-15 with a special discount price. The tour will be held on the afternoon of August 13, and will take you to the Kinkaku-ji Temple (the golden pavilion), Nijo-jo Castle, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple, which are one of the most famous and fabulous cultural treasures in Japan! The bus will depart from the conference site (Kyoto International Conference Center) at 13:10, and will send you to Kyoto station and Karasuma-Oike subway station at the end of the tour. The fee is 8,000 JPY, and incudes coach fee, admission fee, lunch box, and English speaking guide. Nijo-jo Castle was built in 1603 as the Kyoto residence of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo Period (1603-1867). His grandson Iemitsu completed the castle's palace buildings 23 years later and further expanded the castle by adding a five story castle keep.
Kiyomizu-dera is one of the most celebrated temples of Japan. It was founded in 780 on the site of the Otowa Waterfall in the wooded hills east of Kyoto, and derives its name from the fall's pure waters.
