- The Japanese art of flower arrangement -


A class to experience the Japanese art of flower arrangement is held on August 14 specially for accompanying persons who are attending the conference banquet. The class is for beginners and will be given in English.

Lecturer Profile

Prof. Kurata was appointed in 2006 as Ikenobo Headquarters Visiting Professor to the U.S.A. and Canada for a six-month period, giving demonstrations and workshops throughout both countries. His work promotes the beauty and spirit of Ikenobo ikebana, Japanese traditional flower arranging that has been passed down for over 550 years. He is currently an Instructor at the Ikenobo Central Training Institute in Kyoto, Japan, where advanced theories and skills of Ikenobo ikebana are taught.
